Kick off the season with Ballet North Texas’s Modern Works, a remarkable performance that showcases the rich history and immense talent of the company. George Balanchine’s “Serenade” 

A milestone in the history of dance, “Serenade” is the first original ballet George Balanchine created in America. Set to Tchaikovsky’s transcendent Serenade for Strings, this romantic work is known for its sweeping beauty and intricate choreography, making it a beloved staple of the ballet repertoire. The ballet, performed by 26 dancers, is a testament to Balanchine’s genius and his special affinity for Tchaikovsky’s music (NYC Ballet) (Balanchine). 

Penny Saunders’s “Sur le Fil” 

“Sur le Fil” is celebrated for its dynamic and innovative choreography. Penny Saunders creates a mesmerizing piece that challenges and delights audiences with its intricate movements and emotional depth. 

New Work by Carrie Ruth Trumbo 

Local choreographer Carrie Ruth Trumbo presents a new work that will captivate audiences with its unique blend of creativity and technical prowess. Her piece adds a fresh and compelling element to the evening’s program, showcasing the innovative spirit and talent within the local dance community.
